Learning Objects

Students at Kensington Primary School were among the first students in Victoria to benefit educationally from the use of Learning Objects.  These objects our now available to our students online at school only.  There are some 3,000 objects that staff can make available to students.  Known now as digilearn, the learning objects are like mini educational and interactive games.  They are on a variety of topics including science, history, music, maths and english etc.

One of KPS' favourites is Wishball. It is an interactive learning object (much like a mini educational game)  that explores the concept of place value in whole numbers and decimals to the 100th place.  This learning object is used by grade 3 and up students to build on their understanding of whole and part numbers.

Decimaster is another learning object, it explores the equivalency of fractions and decimals. Students need to match the decimal fraction with it's pictorial representation.
