Physical Education

The Physical Education program aims for every student to fully participate in an active life. Each student is encouraged to ‘have a go’ at an array of physical activities and they are given advice on how they can improve their individual performances.

The Physical Education program takes the individual to a higher level, in that students are encouraged to work co-operatively and harmoniously in small groups, leading onto the experience of playing in a team. Students are constantly reminded of our Team anagram, that is. Together Everyone Achieves Best.

Together with this focus, the program is delivered and assessed according to the VELS Curriculum Guide. Emphasis is placed on the Physical Education and Health including a strong focus on the Interpersonal Skills.

SPORT NEWS 08

Hello Sports enthusiasts,

The Cross Country Carnival was a wonderful day with all competitors completing the race. The 9/10 year olds were especially excited to be part of such a special event and there was some real determination & endurance held by the runners. Any anxiety was soon swept away with exhaustion & sweat. Rob was kept busy icing sore ankles, calves & hamstrings. Brendan was giving his personal advice to students who needed it and I was being deafened by the sound of the starting gun. Thanks to all our supporters. Some great results for the day. We have 4 girls who qualified for the Zone Cross Country Championships held on the 28th May. They were Ella W, Caitlin, Dereni and Emma B. Well done and good luck!

On the home front, we have Badminton clinics organized for Tuesday 29th April, 6th May & 13th May from 9 till 11am

Welcome back to our new term of fun filled sporting activities. The Cross Country team is gearing up for the Championships on 22nd April.

Grade 5 & 6 students are currently selecting Winter Sports they are interested in. These sports include Football, Netball and Bat Tennis. All grade 6 students will be given first choice and some grade 5 students will be asked to participate (according to their sport preference).More details concerning the Winter Interschool Sports Competition will be provided as we approach the season.

We had a Soccer Clinic organised for grade 34F, 12J & 12M. The children were totally engaged the entire session to the point where they were asking for a drink break just to recuperate. Scott McNickle was the presenter and his enthusiasm rubbed off onto the students.
