Child Safe Standards: The Child Safe Standards are compulsory minimum standards for all Victorian schools, to ensure they are well prepared to protect children from abuse. Most schools already have policies and procedures that aim to keep children safe. Schools are required to comply with the standards for registration and the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA) is responsible for ensuring school compliance. Working with Children Checks: The Working with Children Act introduced minimum suitability standards for certain people who work or volunteer with children. All KPS staff have WWC (or equivalent) checks, including teaching staff, support staff, administrative staff, staff from outsourced companies and school maintenance staff. All Volunteers working with our students or supervising excursions MUST have a WWCC. To apply simply go to Working with Children checks and follow the prompts.
